Assistant Principal–Ms. Saenz

About me

I grew up with five sisters in Weslaco, Tx. which is located in The Rio Grande Valley. Our names pretty much all begin with the letter E including our parents: Ernesto, Elena, Imelda, Eliza, Emma, Erika, Emily, and Evelyn(in order). I also have three nieces and four nephews. My entire family lives in Weslaco but frequently visit me or I visit them. We are extremely close and they mean the world to me!

Upon graduating from high school in 2001, I moved to Austin to attend The University of Texas at Austin. I earned a Bachelor's in Applied Human Learning and Development in 2005, and later returned to earn a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction through Proyecto Maestría in 2011. It was in 2016 that I then earned Principal Certification through Lamar University in Beaumont, Tx. I'm starting my 18th year in education and have worked in Austin ISD for 15 of those years. I've worked in 3 districts and 6 different schools as a K DL teacher, 1st grade ESL teacher, 2nd grade DL teacher, 4th grade DL teacher, Instructional coach, and finally as an AP.

I have an awesome 16 year old son named Xavier who is a junior at Akins Early College High School and runs track. Go Eagles! Our pup Thumper is 9 months old and a handful:-).

In my free time I enjoy exploring Austin, hiking, journaling, listening to music, watching sports, watching movies, and spending time with friends and family.

I am extremely happy to be in my sixth year at Blazier!
