Welcome to 5th Grade!

As 5th grade teachers, our mission is to create college and career ready scholars by incorporating:

• Writing in all subject areas with an emphasis on using academic vocabulary in complete sentences,

• Inquiry through discovery, analysis, and synthesis of information from multiple sources,

• Collaboration with peers and classmates as students process new content, discuss phenomena, and creatively problem solve,

• Organization through both classroom systems and note-taking strategies to clarify and support learning, and

• Reading with a critical lens across all disciplines.

Our goal is to place students at the center of their academic experience by empowering them to take ownership and agency of their thinking and learning.
