I graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Education. Wreck ‘Em!!

I have 2 children, in Kinder and 2nd, who also attend Blazier. We have 3 cats at home- Bagheera, Nadia and Whiskers.

Hi! My name is Heidi Remick. I am the occupational therapist at Blazier Elementary for the 2024-2025 school year. This will be my first year at Blazier and I am very excited to meet everyone! I recently got married to my husband, Andrew, and we have a dog named Clyde. As a family, we enjoy spending time at the dog park, rock climbing, traveling, and hanging out with a good book and a cup of tea.

Alexandra Nassar Moore

I grew up in Houston, Texas. I went to college at Texas Tech University where I majored in Education. After college I taught first grade for 3 years in Dallas and then 2 years in Austin. I returned to Texas Tech for graduate school in 2019 and once I completed my masters, I became a Diagnostician in Austin ISD. I love living in Austin with my Fiancé and am looking forward to getting married this year!

Mayra Hernandez

¡Hola! My name is Mayra Hernandez, and this will be my second year as a bilingual speech-language pathologist at Blazier. I earned my bachelor’s degree from UT Austin in 2016 and my master’s degree from Texas Woman’s University in 2023. Originally from Houston, TX, but I was raised in Austin, TX. I’m engaged to my high school sweetheart and have two children. Our family also includes three fur babies: two dogs, Chewy and Oreo, and a cat named Skittles.

About Me:

I am a sixth year AISD SLP who is excited to serve first and third grade students this year! Though I have lived in Austin for the past 15 years, I was born and raised in southern California. I attended college and graduate school at UT Austin where I earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology before pursuing a master's degree in speech-language pathology. The best part of my job is teaching kids how to advocate for themselves and express their thoughts. I enjoy reading books, hiking, gardening, and painting pet portraits. I have two daughters (4 and 2 years old) and two dogs (Sasha and Olive).

Hello, I'm Cathyrn Johnson.  I was born and raised in Austin, Texas. I am the youngest of four and have one niece. I enjoy bowling, skating, reading, and trying new things.

I attended Austin ISD schools and graduated from LBJ High School. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary studies: Early Childhood Education from Prairie View A&M University. GO PANTHERS!

 

I have worked in various grades ranging from Kindergarten to 7th grade. This will be my fifteenth-year teaching and third year in special education. I am committed to providing the best possible care and education for students. I am so excited to be embarking on this journey with you and your student. It is my goal and intention to create a partnership with you so that your student has a fun and successful year.

Mariah Kirker

My name is Mariah Kirker, I have been a teacher for 3.5 years. I have taught in ECSE (early childhood special education) and currently I am the Life Skills teacher. I went to Texas State University for undergrad and received my B.S. in All Level Special Education and then continued to UT Austin and got my M. Ed. in Special education for early intervention. I loveeee being a teacher and making relationships with my students and seeing them grow. 

Some things I like to do in my free time include, singing and playing piano, walking on the lady bird trail and getting iced coffee with friends.
